Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Just have to say strictly only tried this place because my fellow yelpers! Would probably never have tried this hole in the wall. It gives off a preschool vibe with it's vibrant decor but Oh my hell I'm in love!! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood. Best michalada I've ever had basically included a shrimp platter with how much shrimp they gave you and super fresh juicy crab legs. Definitely gonna be a regular at this restaurant.

Really delicious shrimp ceviche. Crispy, fresh fish taco, and shrimp burrito were all tasty. Everything was made one dish at a time, so everything came out at different times, but it was all well done.

Really incredible food. The ceviche is just like you would get in Baja. Very surprised that this restaurant isn't more crowded because it's quite simply the best Mexican food in SLC.

Absolutely delicious food, especially the shrimp. Good ceviche, delicious burritos and fajitas.

When I saw 5 stars and only a single $ I thought it was to good to be true... Make sure to find this hidden gem...great fish tacos and the ceviche is amazing

This place is amazing in so many ways. Great food, great portions, great atmosphere, super nice staff and low prices. I have no idea why it is never very busy. People have yet to discover it and while that is great for me it is not great for the owners. Go here for what is really the best Mexican food in SLC today.

The food was excellent! I got the Huevos Rancheros it was sooo good and a ton of food! I also got a seafood tostada! My waitress was super nice, I also like that they have beer! I will definitely be back to try moljaca!

The huevos rancheros are really good and only six bucks. The portions are way too big but if your into over eating you'll love it. I'll be coming back soon.

Authentic, quality, and delicious. This place is amazing! Friendly staff, great service (not a great place if you're in a hurry), fresh food. Amazing.

The food was really good! Ordered the Pasta costa brava and the shrimp cocktail michelada. Everything was amazing! Great service too!

I have to say, this place is a hidden gem! Can't believe this wasn't more crowded. The food is authentic, fresh and tasty. Will definitely be coming back on my next visit.

Best carne asada in the valley. The carne asada burrito is freaking delicious. The last place in this location was a dump. This is not that place.

This place is a surprise. Awesome Mexican seafood & the best breakfast deal in Salt Lake. Ask for the breakfast menu. A plate of huevos rancheros is just $6!

I can't figure out why this place doesn't have more reviews because this is arguably the best Mexican food to be had in SLC. Fresh food, great menu variety and killer salsa and guac, not to mention outstanding seafood choices. Mariscos is a bit pricier than standard Mexican fare, but the food quality and taste more than make up for it. Go and go soon.

I'm surprised this whole in the wall has not yet been discovered by the Salt Lake hipsters because it is seriously that that good and affordable. It is like everyone else is saying, the best Mexican in Salt Lake City! I asked the owner how long they had been open and he said about a year, I'm guessing this is why they haven't had more publicity but if you're missing soCal Mexican food, let me tell you - this is even better. It is so authentic, the portions are huge, and the food is so so so so good. Just go and try it - I can't even say anymore because I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. This will be our go to Mexican spot in Salt Lake - definitely!

Great service... very low key for lunch. I had two tacos (asada and pollo) and a tostada. Tons of food for the price. The chips and salsa are excellent. The green salsa was especially intense. All of the food tasted fresh and had great flavor.

Great food, very reasonably priced. We waited awhile for the food, but I attribute it to being the only ones there during lunch. Glad that they got more traffic as we were leaving.

Best Mexican seafood ever Just try it!!! I'm sure it's gonna be the great place for everyone who wants to get something real

This is a don't-judge-a-book-by-its-cover sort of place. It's in a sketchy-looking strip mall off State Street, and it doesn't have a whole lot going on in terms of ambiance. But the service is very friendly, the seafood very good (in the style common to the Nayarit state on Mexico's Pacific coast), and the beer served ice-cold. The first time I went I asked for the camarones a la diabla hot, and it almost set my head on fire. That was a bit too hot, but I appreciated that they didn't try to second-guess my request. I went again recently and got it medium-plus, and it was just right. Anyway, this place is definitely worth checking out.
